Poke Bowl With Salmon
A poke bowl is originally a dish from Hawaii, with Japanese influences, which is obvious when you see the ingredients. It is actually sushi served in a small bowl. You can also endlessly vary in terms of ingredients. If you would like some grated carrots or radishes, this is also great with this dish. Or if you don’t like to eat raw fish, you can always add fried meat, for example chicken fried in teriyaki sauce.
What do you need?
- 9 oz or 250 gr of sushi rice
- 2 cups or 500ml of water
- 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 7 oz or 200 gr salmon, cut into cubes
- ½ mango, cut into cubes
- ½ cucumber, cut into circles
- 1 spring onion
- ½ avocado
- 2 tablespoons soy beans
- Sesame seeds
- Spicy sushi mayonnaise (optional)
How to make it?
Rinse the sushi rice under running water until it’s clear water that’s coming out of the rice.
Put the rice in a small cooking pot and add 2 cups or 500 ml of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat. When the water is boiling, reduce the heat and let it boil for 10 minutes or until the water has been absorbed.
Turn off the heat and let stand for 10 minutes with the lid on the cooking pot.
Meanwhile cut all vegetables and fish.
In a small bowl, combine the rice vinegar and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add to the rice and stir well.
Divide the rice between two bowls. Place the vegetables and fish on top of the rice.
Finish with sesame seeds and sushi mayonnaise if you like and serve.
Bon appetit!
