500 ml (17 oz) sauce

Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Delicious homemade mushroom sauce. Yes heating a package is the easiest way to get yourself some sauce, but this is not difficult at all to make, it only takes a little more time. But it is so much better.

What do you need?

  • 250 gr (8,8 oz) white mushrooms, cut into slices
  • 100 gr (3,5 oz) bacon or pancetta, cut into pieces
  • 500 ml (17 oz)  heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons of corn starch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme

How to make it?

Bake the pancetta or bacon in a little olive oil, until it’s nicely brown.

Add the mushrooms and fry them also nicely brown.

Add the cream but keep a little bit aside. Bring the cream to a boil.

Mix the corn starch with the remaining cream, make sure the corn starch is completely dissolved.

Pour the corn starch into the cream and keep stirring, the sauce will thicken.

Finally add the thyme, salt and pepper.
