Ginger Shrimp
This was a surprisingly delicious dish. This may also be a pleasant surprise for those who are not such a fan of ginger. The ginger taste is very subtly. I love ginger myself, my husband not at all. But this dish was also a hit with him.
What do you need?
- 450 gr (16 oz) shrimps, peeled
- 2 teaspoons Fresh ginger, grated
- 85 gr (3 oz)of honey
- 3 tablespoon of low sodium soy sauce
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 spring onions, finely chopped
- ¼ teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons of oil, for baking
How to make it?
Fry the shrimp in a large frying pan on a medium high setting. Remove from the pan and set them aside.
Fry the fresh ginger and minced garlic in that same pan for 1 minute. Now turn your fire to a low heat and add the soy sauce, honey and pepper. Let it caramelize for 3-5 minutes. Stir in between to avoid burning.
Add the shrimp and stir them through the sauce, add the sesame oil and the spring onions and let it cook for 1 minute.
Serve with white rice or noodles.
Bon Appetit!
TIP: I always use Jasmine rice for Asian dishes, this gives an extra Asian touch to your dish.
