Honey Sesame Chicken

Crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. Topped with a deliciously sweet Asian sauce. This dish goes perfectly with white rice. Which provides a neutral touch in addition to the sweet sauce.

What do you need?

  • 10 oz or 300 gr chicken, cut into cubes
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ pepper
  • 4 oz or 100 gr breadcrumbs (I used panko)
  • 2 spring onions, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds

For the sauce

  • 3 oz or 80 ml of honey
  • 3 oz or 80 ml low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 2 cloves of garlic, pressed

How to make it?

Preheat the oven to 390°F or 200 ° C (350°F or 180 ° C hot air). Prepare your oven plate with baking paper on it.

Beat the two eggs in a deep plate and add the salt and pepper.

Place the breadcrumbs in another deep plate.

Pass each piece of chicken through the egg mixture and then through the breadcrumbs. Place on the baking sheet. Repeat until the chicken runs out. Do not put the chicken pieces together.

Let the chicken bake in the oven for 25 minutes.

In the meantime you can prepare the sauce. Take a small saucepan and add all the sauce ingredients.

Bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir regularly until slightly thickened.

Remove the chicken from the oven and divide the sauce over it, then divide the sesame seeds over the whole and finish with the spring onions.

Serve with white rice or noodles.

Bon Appetit!

TIP: I always use Jasmin rice for my Asian dishes
