Pizza With Feta

No classic tomato sauce for this pizza, but a delicious cheese sauce as a base. Because the cheese sauce is a soft taste you still can enjoy and really taste the vegetables and feta cheese.

What do you need?

  • 250 gr (8,8 oz)  homemade pizza dough or 1 roll of ready-made pizza dough
  • 150 gr (5 oz) frozen spinach, defrosted and drained.
  • 100 gr (3,5 oz) mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 red onion, in half rings
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 200 -220 ml (around 7 oz) of milk
  • 3 tablespoons of Parmesan
  • 100 gr (3,5 oz) mozzarella, grated
  • 70 gr (2,5 oz) feta cheese

Preheat the oven to 220 °C or 430°F  (200 °C or 390°F hot air).

In a small cooking pot, melt the 2 tablespoons of butter. Remove from the heat and add the flour and whisk the flour into butter. Add milk little by little and whisk it under the flour.

Put back on the stove and heat up, Keep whisking. The sauce will now thicken. It’s supposed to be a thick sauce. Add the 3 tablespoons of Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper and remove from heat.

Roll out your pizza dough and place on a baking tray that you lined with baking paper.

Cover the dough with sauce, leaving the edges free. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella on top of the sauce.

Divide the spinach, mushrooms and red onion over the pizza.

Crumble the feta cheese between the vegetables and finally spread the remaining mozzarella over it.

Bake the pizza for 20-25 minutes, until it is brown and the cheese has melted.
