Fun With Kids: Mummy Dogs
A fun way to serve sausage rolls on Halloween. Wrap the puff pastry as if it had cloths wrapped around him just like a mummy.
I served these mummy dogs with blood sauce (A.K.A ketchup, hihi). Creepy food and Halloween fun with kids in the house.
What do you need?
- 12 hot dogs (I used crispy sausages)
- 1 roll of puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten
- 24 candy eyes
- Sauce of your choice
How to make it?
Preheat the oven to 200 °C or 390°F (180 °C or 360°F hot air). Take a oven tray and cover it with baking paper.
Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 1 cm or half an inch wide strips.
Dry the sausages with paper towels and then roll the puff pastry around the sausage, doing this so that it looks like it has a cloth wrapped around him.
Place the mummy dogs on the baking tray and brush with the beaten egg.
Bake them in the oven for 20-25 minutes until they are nicely browned.
Let it cool down for a second, then put the eyes in place.
Serve with your favorite sauce.
Bon appetit!
