Nutella Cream Cheese Rolls With Hazelnuts

Nutella is the only thing I can use that is a bit chocolate related. My husband and daughter are both allergic to cocoa. They can tolerate Nutella and Kinder surprise because the cocoa concentration is low.

These rolls are super easy to make because I use ready-made pizza dough for this. I like to use this dough for dessert. It doesn’t have a strong flavor, nor does it have a more greasy taste like you have with puff pastry.

What do you need?

  • 1 roll of Pizza dough
  • 120 gr (4,2 oz) cream cheese
  • 80 gr (2,8 oz) Nutella
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 3 handfuls of chopped hazelnuts
  • Baking spray or melted butter

How to make it?

Preheat the oven to 180 °C  or 360 °F(160 °C or 320 °F hot air). Take one oven tray and cover it with baking paper.

Roll out the pizza dough and let it come to temperature.

Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine the cream cheese, Nutella and vanilla extract and stir well.

Spread the Nutella cream cheese mixture on the pizza dough. Sprinkle the hazelnuts all over the dough.

Roll up the pizza dough, from long side to long sides, so the rolls are not too thick.

Then cut 2 cm rounds with a sharp knife and place them flat on the baking tray.

Spray over each roll baking spray or dab a little butter on each roll.

Bake the rolls for 10-15 minutes until they are nicely browned.

Let cool on a cooling rack.

Bon Appetit!
