Naan Bread
Naan bread is a very neutral bread that is often eaten instead of rice or potatoes with eastern dishes.
I also like it to eat with a salad or to use it as a base for a naan pizza.
What do you need?
- 100-110 ml (3,5 – 3,8 oz) of warm water
- 300 gr (10,58 oz) all-purpose flour
- 60 gr (2,11 oz) yoghurt
- 28 gr (0,98 oz) butter, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of instant dry yeast
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1 egg
- Optional: Extra butter + finely chopped garlic
How to make it?
In a bowl you combine all the ingredients, except for the extra butter and garlic.
Knead with a dough hook or with your hands for 10 minutes.
Make a ball of the dough with your hands and place it in an oiled bowl. Cover and let rise for 1 hour in a warm, draft free place.
Divide the dough into 8 parts.
Roll out each part into a flat disc, use enough flour because the dough will quickly stick to your countertop.
Heat a pan with oil on a medium high setting and fry the naan on both sides. The naan is good when it looks nice and brown.
Brush the naan with the butter and garlic or serve as it is.
Bon Appetit!
