Marinara Sauce
Nothing wrong with a marinara sauce from a jar if you quickly want to put a dish on the table. But if you have some extra time, it’s definitely worth making this delicious sauce yourself.
What do you need?
- 800 gr (28 oz) peeled tomatoes (1 large tin)
- 2 tablespoons of Olive oil
- 1 medium onion
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon of chili flakes
- Salt to taste
- 6 basil leaves finely chopped
How to make it?
Put the peeled tomatoes, along with the onion (cut into 4 parts), garlic, oregano and chili flakes in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil over medium heat. When it is boiling, turn the heat lower and let it simmer for 45 minutes. Stir frequently.
When it is finished, you take the pot off the heat, take out the onions and mix it with a mixer.
Season with salt and add the chopped basil. The sauce is now ready to be used in one of your delicious Italian dishes.
Bon Appetit!
