Pizza Twists

These twists are a super fun to serve, especially when you put a snack out for kids. They are a nice alternative for the regular mini pizzas.

It’s a bit of a messy when you wind them up, they tend to fall apart. But once you get the hang of it, it’s certainly not much work to make.

What do you need?

  • 250 gr (9 oz) homemade pizza dough or 1 roll of ready-made pizza dough
  • 50-100 gr (2-3 oz) Pizza sauce
  • 8 slices of pizza salami
  • 50 gr (2 oz) mozzarella
  • Olive oil

How to make it?

Preheat the oven to 220 °C or 430 °F (200 °C or 390 °F hot air). Cover a baking tray with baking paper.

Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangular/oval shape and cut it in half so that you get two pieces that are roughly equal.

Cover one half with pizza sauce, sprinkle with half of the mozzarella. Place the salami slices on top and sprinkle with mozzarella again.

Now put the other half of the dough on top of this. If the edges don’t cover completely, you can gently pull the dough to make it a bit bigger.

Now cut the dough into strips and wind up the strips, this way you get a twisted stick after baking.

Place on the baking tray and brush the twists with olive oil.

Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, until they are nicely browned.

Bon Appetit!
