1 large quiche
Non-Sweet Pie Dough
This dough is a good base to use for a quiche, non-sweet pie, Turkish pide,…
What do you need?
- 250 gr (8,8 oz) flour (I used patent flour)
- 40 g (1,4 oz) butter, at room temperature or just soften in the microwave
- 4 g (0,14 oz) of instant dry yeast
- 5 g (0,17 oz) of salt
- 125 ml (4,2 oz) of water
- Extra flower for your work surface
How to make it?
Put all ingredients in a bowl and knead with the dough hook of your mixer or knead by hand. Do this for 10 minutes.
Make a ball of the dough and place it in a bowl that is lightly oiled. Cover and let rise for 1 hour in a draft free and warm place.
Roll out the dough on your work surface that is lightly dusted with flour. Roll it out so it’s larger than your baking tin, so you can press it well into your baking tin. If you use it for a quiche, for example, you bake it for 40 -50 minutes at 180 °C or 350°F (160 °C or 320°F hot air)
If you use it to make a Pide, for example, it only needs a baking time of 20-30 minutes at the same temperature.
Bon Appetit!
