Twisted Bread

I always make this bread when I serve bread with a dish. I think it has a nice shape and weird but true, it still tastes different than just a long loaf of bread. It is also a wonderfully fluffy bread. This is always a big hit when I make it.

What do you need?

  • 300 gr (10,58 oz) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 30 gr (1,06 oz) unsalted butter
  • 20 gr (0,70 oz) bread improver
  • 6 gr (0,21 oz) salt
  • 7 gr (0,25 oz) of dried yeast
  • 170 ml (6 oz) of lukewarm water

How to make it?

Weigh all ingredients and put in a bowl, knead for 10 minutes with the dough hook of your stand mixer or with your hands.

Prepare a bowl and grease it with some olive oil. When the dough is ready, make a ball of the dough and roll it around in the pot so that the dough ball is covered with oil.

Cover the jar with plastic wrap. Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free place for 1 hour.

Prepare a baking tray and cover it with parchment paper.

Sprinkle a little flour on your worktop and put the dough on it. Push the air out of the dough with your fingertips. Make a flat disk out of the dough. Now divide the dough into two parts.

Make two long strips from the dough. You do this by squeezing the dough so that it becomes a long sausage. place the two sausages next to each other and braid them together.

Place the braided dough on the baking tray and sprinkle the dough with flour. Rub the flour over the dough.

Cover with plastic foil and let rise again for 1 hour in a draft-free place.

Preheat your oven to 150 ° C hot air.

Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes until nicely browned. Remove from oven and let cool on a cooling rack.
