Gnocchi Bolognese
A wonderfully classic bolognese sauce, this time not with regular spaghetti but with Gnocchi.
I think these pasta balls are delicious. But they do ask for a sauce that has a stronger taste.
What do you need?
- 500 gr (17,6 oz) gnocchi
- 100 gr (3,5 oz) pancetta, cut into pieces
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 250 gr (8,8 oz) minced meat
- 500 gr (17,6 oz) tomato cubes
- 1 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 1 teaspoon of basil
- Pepper and salt to taste
- 60 gr (2,11 oz) Parmesan
- 100 gr (3,5 oz) mozzarella
How to make it?
Cook the gnocchi as described on the package. Then set aside for later.
Fry the pancetta pieces in a large frying pan. When they are crispy, remove them from the pan.
Add a tablespoon of oil and fry the onion and garlic for about 2 minutes.
Then add the minced meat to the onion and fry it until done. Push the minced meat into smaller pieces with a spatula.
When the meat is cooked, add the tomato cubes, as well as the balsamic vinegar, sugar, basil and paprika powder.
Let it bake for 2 minutes so it can heat up. Then add the gnocchi, pancetta and Parmesan. Stir this into the sauce.
Season with salt and pepper.
Divide between plates and finish with mozzarella, if you want melted mozzarella, you can put the plates in an oven at 100 °C or 212 °F for 10 minutes or heat up in the microwave for 1 minute.
Bon Appetit!
