Braided Puff Pastry With Pudding And Cherries

An easy and delicious puff pastry dessert. Filled with pudding and sweet cherry pie filling.

I used homemade pudding, but you can also buy pudding and use this.

What do you need?

  • 1 roll of ready-made puff pastry
  • 300 gr (10,5 oz) pudding (homemade or bought)
  • ½ tin of cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg, beaten loose
  • Optional: almond flakes

How to make it?

Preheat the oven to 200 °C or 390 °F (180 °C or 360 °F hot air). Take an oven tray and cover with baking paper.

Take the puff pastry and roll it out. Roll it over with your rolling pin to make it flatter.

Place on the baking tray lined with baking paper. Cut the shape into it as shown in the photo.

Spread pudding in the middle and top with cherries.

First fold the two ends inwards, then braid the puff pastry.

Brush the outside with egg and sprinkle over the almond flakes.

Bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry looks nice and brown.

Let cool on a cool rack.
